تظاهرات تشل وسط تورنتو والهند تحذر كندا من التدخل في شئونها

مظاهرات حاشدة عرقلت الحركة في وسط مدينة تورنتو ظهر السبت لتحول هدوء الشوارع في نهاية الأسبوع إلى ضجيج وازدحام أدخل شرطة تورونتو في حالة ارتباك
المظاهرات هذه المرة لم تكن من قبل متظاهرين مشاة أو متجمعين في مكان واحد ولكنها كانت مسيرة ضخمة من مختلف أنواع وأحجام السيارات التي حملت شعارات تندد بقرار حكومي يهدد أو يؤثر في قوت الفلاحين أو المزارعين .. ليس مزارعي كندا ولكن مزارعي الهند
المتظاهرون هم كنديون من أصول هندية جائوا بسياراتهم حتى سيارات النقل حضرت للتجمهر والتظاهر والاحتجام أمام مبنى السفارة الهندية في وسط تورنتو وتحديدا في شارع بلور حيث مقر القنصلية الهندية
الاحتجاج يأتي بعد أن أصدرت الحكومة الهندية قرارا يحرم المزارعين الهنود من ميزة بيع محاصيلهم بسعر مضمون لايقل عن حد معين للحكومة وتركه للعرض والطلب أو بالأحرى لاستغلال الشركات الخاصة التي يمكن أن تهدد ملايين الهكتارات التي تعتمد عليها الهند في غذائها اليومي بالإضافى إلى أنها تعين ملايين المزارعين على البقاء في حالة ليست ميسورة جدا
يذكر أن تلك المظاهرات تأتي بعد أن أشار رئيس الوزراء ترودو إلى أن كندا تقف بجوار المزارعين الهنود مما أثار غضب الحكومة الهندية التي لوحت بأن التدخل في الشأن الداخلي للهند قد يؤثر على العلاقات الهندية الكندية
A convoy of vehicles and hundreds of demonstrators have gathered outside the Indian consulate at Bloor Street and Sherbourne Street in support of farmers protesting in India.
India’s prime minister recently announced new legislation that farmers say will prevent them from selling their grain to the government for a minimum guaranteed price.
Instead, they will be able to sell to corporations at prices determined by both parties.
It’s legislation Mansi Kaur, one of the protest organizers, says will hurt farmers.
Kaur says the convoy, made up of thousands of vehicles, is set to drive by the consulate as a show of solidarity.
Police say they are aware of the demonstration and are asking drivers to consider an alternate route of travel.
Thousands of farmers are protesting reforms in India that they say could devastate crop prices and reduce their earnings. They have blocked highways on the outskirts of New Delhi for the last 10 days.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government insists the reforms will benefit farmers. It says they will allow farmers to market their produce and boost production through private investment. But farmers say they were never consulted.
